Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO) has confirmed that Iranian authorities have carried out at least 7,284 executions between 2011 and 2023.2023 marked the second-highest year for executions over that period, with 834 confirmed executions. IHRNGO has documented that “ethnic minorities in Iran are overrepresented in death penalty statistics.”
